Artist in Residence Una Dunphy / March Art Attack

“Camino 15”

Is a show of paintings of various media based on the individuals that Una met whilst walking the Camino in Spain.

Since the 10th Century, pilgrims (peregrinos) have walked to shrine of the Apostle St. James at Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain. The routes originate from many points in Europe and are known as “Caminos,” or Ways.

Walking a Camino was a traditional penance and pilgrims received an indulgence to remove the penalty of their sins.

Come see these lovely paintings based on the individuals / friends/characters that Una met along the walk.

Show your support for our new Artist in Residency program and attend the artists talk during ART ATTACK

Seidr Studios Debut Collection

Seidr Studio presents their debut collection, the Cauldron Collection,
for Summer 2014. Anna and Mira founded Seidr Studio in June 2013, with the
dream of creating unique, handcrafted garments for the individualist. The
Cauldron Collection is the culmination of this dream – and only the beginning.

This collection consists of basic knit wear pieces with raw finishes, that have been
hand dyed, sewn and screen printed by Anna and Mira.
The fabric is a cotton/bamboo blend, extremely soft and lightweight for warm
summer days. The dyes incorporated into the pieces are all-natural, plant based
materials, coupled with an iron mordant. The garments have been made in small
batches, resulting in each piece being unique in coloration and texture.

Seidr Studio’s first open showroom featuring the Cauldron Collection is on
June 21, 2014. Please come by! Support local art and design, and be a part of the
slow fashion movement.

Seidr Studio is also open every second Saturday of the month for Georgetown
Art Attack and by appointment.

Special thanks to our photographer Tom Radio, our model Lydia Withrow and Kristina Cullen at Open the Cellar Door Jewelry.

The Works of Seb Barnett

Join us for Georgetown Art Attack Saturday April 12th from 6-9 pm.
New works by Northwest native Seb Barnett will be an adventure into pop surrealism and shamanic imagery. Lovely paintings, drawings and prints titled “Contemporary Myths” will entice you into another realm.

“Myths are deeply rooted in truth. True emotions, experiences, visions and dreams. Each person has their
own mythos about who they are, where they came from, and where they are going. These paintings and
drawings are from Seb Barnett’s personal myth, a story in the Pacific Northwest rainforest with natural
disasters, from the elements and from the individuals living in the elements.
Maybe these individuals are human, but most likely they are not, it could be they are something in
between human and plant. Even if they are not human, they still struggle to live through the elements
around them, to live with rejection, frustration, joy, and shame. They are monsters created by mankind,
but not cared for or wanted”.

While you’re here be sure to tour the cultural center and visit our 16 art studios with works created with many different mediums.

Hotel Valentine Show | Saturday, February 8th

Hotel Valentine – Get A Room!

For this exhibition, the hallways and rooms of what was a hotel in the early 1900s, will be filled with art that celebrates all things LOVE

What does love feel like? How do you find it? Do you fall into it easily? Do you have crushes? What turns you on? What do you do when you lose it? What does intimacy and marriage mean to you? Can you live without love?

We are looking for art that celebrates all aspects of love, including sex and intimacy. Images about Valentines Day (whether you love it or hate it) are also welcome. Images may be erotic but tasteful in nature. We will consider some adult content, so please feel free to send images

Best yet, 10% of sales will go to Pasado’s Safe Haven for Animals!

Opening reception – January 11th 6-9 pm during Art Walk, in the Palace Gallery of the Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center.

On display for the first time in public will be the eclectic art collection of artist and professional artists’ muse, Angielena Vitale Chamberlain. Miss Chamberlain worked with a diverse and eclectic group of local and international artists for the last twenty years. As a Seattle art model and muse, she has amassed a fun and varied collection of art.

Each piece was collected while working with artists as a visual reminder of the special relationship with the person. This collection serves as her diary of quite a few local and international artists.

You will find in this collection: diverse paintings, sculpture, photography and assemblage, along with some surprises. Artists in this collection are Thomas Loepp (painting), Lyle Silver (painting), Chris Crites (bag painter), Zoey Gillespie (photography), Yvette Endrijautzki (assemblage/sculpture), Jethaniel Peterka (painting / assemblage), Jeff Mihalyo (painting), Arun Sharma (sculpture), Richard James (sculpture) amongst a few more.

Some pieces will be available for purchase, but will not be announced publicly before the opening. Twenty percent of proceeds will go to to aid in providing clean water to a community of ten women and children in Africa.
