“Teens Thinking Outside the Box” – Printmaking and Multimedia
In early 2012 the GACC developed an after school teen arts program that focused on printmaking. Named “Teens Thinking Outside the Box”, the program is focused on providing arts instruction to South-end youth with a focus on art training and techniques, while building self-esteem and creating social and community bonds. As the arts programming in schools is getting cut drastically, small programs fill in the gaps, and can help to raise test scores, lower crime rates and drug use amongst teens while giving them a positive voice in their community.
Students will have the opportunity to show their work at the Georgetown Art Walk, April 13th!
